[WORLDKINGS - Ideastime] Daily Highlights 29 November, 2023 – This ‘Quiet’ Paddle Brings Down Noise Levels By 50% In Fastest-Growing Sport

(Wcsa.world) In the world of athletics, pickleball has been making a significant mark. Surprisingly, the little-known game is the fastest-growing sport in North America.

However, this popularity comes with a challenge—the distinct “pop” sound of the ball often causes noise issues in sound-sensitive areas.

To address this issue, OWL Sport recently unveiled a solution by creating the first paddles compliant with the USA Pickleball Quiet Category.

These new tools are designed to reduce the noise produced during gameplay significantly. They achieve a hertz level below 600 and a decibel level below 80, marking a 50% reduction in total sound.

Players can choose from four variations, each equipped with superior playability, elongated handles, layers for vibration dampening, and balanced construction for easy maneuverability.

Additionally, these paddles boast a larger sweet spot and are made with advanced materials like graphene-enhanced carbon honeycomb and a proprietary Acoustene sheath.

With the anticipation that Homeowners’ Associations (HOAs) and parks will soon mandate the use of such noise-reducing equipment,  perhaps the 48.3 million Americans who played the sport in the past year will appreciate a more peaceful bout.
