TCL TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER brings a more eye-friendly approach to large-format tablets

(wcsa.world) The TCL TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER combines a 12.2-inch 2.4K display with fourth-generation NXTPAPER technology, aiming to make extended reading, studying, note-taking, and everyday tablet use more comfortable.

Rather than relying solely on a conventional blue-light filter, TCL has built the tablet around a display system designed specifically for eye comfort. Its 12.2-inch 2.4K panel incorporates seven eye-comfort technologies, including Nano Crystal Shield Glass and an OmniSoft Light System, intended to reduce glare and soften the quality of emitted light.

The display uses a 3:2 aspect ratio, giving it more vertical space than many conventional tablets. That makes it particularly useful for documents, webpages, and research materials, where more content can remain visible without constant scrolling. An adaptive 120Hz refresh rate keeps navigation, scrolling, and other interactions fluid.

A dedicated NXTPAPER Key provides quick access to different display modes, allowing users to switch between a paper-like experience and conventional full-color viewing without navigating through settings. The 3-in-1 VersaView feature adds another layer of flexibility by allowing selected apps to remain in full color while the rest of the interface stays in the more subdued paper mode.

NXTPAPER is not designed to replace E Ink displays. Instead, it retains the strengths of a conventional color screen, including smooth video playback and vivid imagery, while adding glare reduction and softer illumination for longer reading sessions.

The software experience is built around Android 16, with Google Gemini and Circle to Search joined by Writing Assist, Text Assist, Smart Translator, and Smart Voice Memo. Split Screen, Floating Windows, and Sidebar also make multitasking easier when moving between writing, research, and other applications.

The tablet is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, with configurations offering up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A microSD card can expand storage to 2TB. A 10,000mAh battery supports 33W fast charging, while the metal unibody measures less than 6.70mm thick.

The TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER weighs 556g, carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, and comes in Aerolite Grey. The package includes a stylus and flip case, making it ready for use without requiring additional essential accessories.

With its large 3:2 display, eye-comfort-focused technology, multitasking tools, and substantial battery, the TCL TAB A1 Plus NXTPAPER is positioned primarily for users who spend long periods reading, studying, working, or consuming content on a tablet.
