Milan is part of Berlin-based eyewear brand L’Atitude 52°N’s Departure Collection. While many smart glasses emphasize visibly technical or angular styling, Milan takes a more traditional route with a rounded panto frame designed to resemble conventional eyewear rather than a piece of electronic equipment.
The camera sits around the bridge and uses a 12MP Sony IMX681 sensor with a 107-degree ultra-wide field of view. It can capture high-resolution still images and 1080p video, while a 6nm AI chip performs real-time noise reduction, exposure adjustment and color processing. Photos can be captured through a tap on the frame or the “Hey Goya” voice command. A built-in 32GB storage capacity holds media locally before synchronization through the companion application.
Goya AI functions as a hands-free voice assistant, handling tasks including music playback, calls, navigation, battery checks and quick questions. The AI Tour Guide feature adds a more contextual use of the camera by recognizing landmarks and artworks and generating approximately 30 seconds of expert commentary on demand.
Live Translation supports two-way conversations across English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. Each translation session can run for up to five minutes before automatically closing. Open-ear stereo speakers deliver audio while a five-microphone array captures voice input, with AI-based noise reduction helping commands remain intelligible in busy environments.
The frame is constructed from EMS TR90 and uses self-adjusting temples, bringing the total weight to approximately 50 grams with lenses. Milan is available in Olive and Obsidian, with gradient-tinted or photochromic lens options. Stainless-steel spring hinges feature a nano wear-resistant coating that L’Atitude 52°N says has been tested through more than 20,000 cycles. The glasses carry an IP65 rating, while the charging case is rated IP67.
Connectivity comes through Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. A 200mAh battery provides up to six hours of mixed use, while the charging case offers between eight and ten full recharges. Fast charging can bring the glasses to 70% in approximately 20 minutes.
Privacy is another central element. Photos and videos are stored locally and deleted from the glasses after synchronization with a phone, while Goya AI interactions are not stored in the cloud. A physical LED indicates when recording is active, and covering the indicator immediately stops both camera and audio recording. The glasses are designed with GDPR compliance in mind.
Milan's appeal therefore extends beyond adding a camera to conventional eyewear. Its combination of hands-free AI, live translation, contextual visual recognition and local media storage positions it as a wearable tool for travel and everyday situations where keeping a smartphone in hand can interrupt the experience.
