Hardkorr’s Xplorer Toy Hauler Combines Comfort and Cargo

27-08-2025

(wcsa.world) Australia’s Hardkorr Campers has been steadily expanding its compact Xplorer camper trailer lineup over the past few years. Now, it’s pushing the concept further with the all-new Xplorer Toy Hauler, a rugged off-road camper designed for those who want to bring their adventure toys along for the ride.

The idea is simple: what’s the point of towing a capable all-terrain camper into the wilderness if you can’t haul your dirt bikes or ATV for maximum fun? The Toy Hauler solves that by integrating a rear flatbed into the camper’s design, offering space for up to three dirt bikes or a single ATV, while still delivering all the convenience and comfort that Xplorer trailers are known for.

Hardkorr designed the Xplorer range to make camping and overlanding as streamlined as possible: lightweight, easy to tow over rough tracks, quick to set up, and reliably comfortable. The Toy Hauler carries forward that ethos while adding a dual-axle chassis, extended payload capacity, and clever loading features that make it equally functional as a base camp and as a toy transporter.

Loading is made simple with a 6,500-lb (2,948-kg) winch mounted up front, plus ramps that store neatly in a front compartment when not in use. Tie-down points, wheel supports, recessed D-rings, and L-track fittings ensure cargo stays securely in place.

Above the bed sits a Z-frame dual-pop-up rooftop tent — a more compact two-person shelter compared to the cushier four-person tent found on other Xplorer trailers. A sturdy staircase at the front provides stable access to the tent, while a 270-degree awning offers shade and shelter.

Inside the camper body, space is reconfigured to balance toy-hauling needs with essential amenities. The left-side hatch houses a slide-out kitchen with sink, 2,000-W induction cooktop, pantry, and electrical controls, while the right-side hatch accommodates the fridge slide. There’s also a swing-out privacy tent, water hookups for both kitchen and shower use, and the option to add a portable toilet.

Underneath, the Toy Hauler packs serious off-road muscle with a hot-dipped galvanized steel chassis, heavy-duty independent suspension with airbags, a 270-Ah lithium battery bank, 510 watts of rooftop solar, and a 3,000-W inverter.

At 18.2 ft (5.6 m) long, 7.9 ft (2.4 m) high, and 7.4 ft (2.3 m) wide, the Toy Hauler is the largest and heaviest in the Xplorer family, tipping the scales at 3,968 lb (1,800 kg) dry. But for those who want the freedom to haul bikes, an ATV, and a fully equipped camper into the wild, it may be the most versatile yet.
