(worldkings.org) Crocs are one of the most widely known clothing brands in the world. This company has been around for decades now, but not everyone knows where the company came from or what inspired the footwear that has made the Crocs brand so famous.

Crocs were founded in the early 2000s with the intention of creating a unique shoe specifically for boating. The first pair was Crocs clogs was unveiled in 2001 in Fort Lauderdale, and since then, hundreds of millions of pairs of clogs have been sold. Crocs are now based in Bloomfield, Colorado.

 

 

The company’s milestones: 

2002: Scott Seamans, Lyndon "Duke" Hanson, and George Boedecker Jr founded Crocs to produce and distribute the shoe, as they recognized its potential and utility for consumers.

2004: Crocs acquires original design company Foam Creations in order to own full control over Crosilite, the EVA foam used to create Crocs that was invented by Foam Creations.

2005: Crocs experience unprecedented commercial success. Crocs are worn by celebrities, presidents, politicians, and other influencers, which results in consistent and rapid commercial growth.

 

 

2008: USCMMS approved Crocs with molded insoles for use by patients with diabetes to reduce foot injuries. Crocs acquire Tidal Trade Inc. for exclusive trade in South Africa.

2014: Crocs announces and implements restructuring and streamlining operations to increase the validity and success of the company.

2020: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company launched "A Free Pair for Healthcare" offering healthcare workers a free pair of their shoes. Crocs also sent 100,000 pairs of shoes to hospitals to be distributed to staff.

 

 

2021: Crocs enters the public eye with endorsements by major celebrities such as Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber. Crocs become famous on TikTok as well.

2023: Crocs collaborated with German luxury label MCM for a series of limited releases.
