  • 1973: Noboru Yamada left Maebashi Plant of Victor Company of Japan, Limited (JVC) to start his own business.
  • 1983: Yamada Denki Co., Ltd. was founded.
  • 1989: The company was listed on JASDAQ.
  • 1997: Yamada Denki’s net sales reached 100 billion yen.
  • 2000: Yamada Denki was promoted to the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
  • 2005: Yamada Denki became the first Japanese specialist store or consumer electronics store to record consolidated sales in excess of 1 trillion yen. With the opening of the Tecc Land Tokushima Aizumi branch, The company succeeded in opening a store in every prefecture in Japan.
  • 2006: Yamada Denki entered a business alliance (and capital alliance) with a Kyūshū-based consumer electronics retailer, Shōichi Denki. The companies plan to found a joint venture, Kyūshū Tecc Land, by February 2007.
  • 2010: The company’s net sales reached 2 trillion yen.
  • 2013: Yamada Denki launched the official online store
