1943: Aisin was founded as Tokai Airplane Industries to produce aircraft engines for the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service.

1965: The company merged with Shinkawa Kogyo Co. Ltd. to form Aisin Seiki Co. Ltd.

1979: Elite Sewing Machine Manufacturing Company was established in Taiwan as a joint venture.
