In 2006, China Mobile (Hong Kong) Limited changed its name to China Mobile Limited

In 2013, China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. was granted a 4G (TD-LTE) license. The Group has thus taken the lead in launching its 4G commercial services in 16 cities in China, which has been positively received by its customers

In 2014, The Company agreed to, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, subscribe for shares in True Corporation Public Company Limited ("True Corporation") in Thailand

In 2015, MIGU, China Mobile's first subsidiary specializing in mobile internet operations, held its opening ceremony in Beijing, marking the commencement of China Mobile's specialized operation in digital content services. CM Internet, a subsidiary of the Group specializing in Internet business operations, held its opening ceremony in Guangzhou, marking the commencement of China Mobile's specialized operation in Internet businesses.

In 2016, The Company’s growth rate of revenue from telecommunications services achieved a five-year high and ranked the first in the industry. Wireless data traffic revenue became the biggest revenue source for the first time in the Company’s history, surpassing the combined revenue of voice, SMS (Short Message Service) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service).

In 2017, reaching its 20th anniversary of listing, the Company has become a world-class telecommunications operator with the world’s largest network and customer base, industry-leading profitability and market capitalization. Initiated the establishment of China Mobile Digital Home Alliance, building a new industrial ecosystem.

In the same year, CM led and completed the first edition of international standard for 5G architecture; Launched MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) service in the UK; Launched NB-IoT in 346 cities, achieving end-to-end scale commercial use

In 2018, CM Joined hands with 20 global device industry partners to launch the "5G Device Forerunner Initiative". It also Obtained the operating permit for LTE/4G Digital Cellular Mobile Service (LTE FDD). Mobile customer base achieved a landmark breakthrough of 900 million and ranked first in "Corporate Social Responsibility Development Index of Chinese Enterprises (10-year cumulative score)" award

In 2019, CM supported a medical institution in Beijing to perform China’s first- ever 5G-based remote surgery on a human and obtained the 5G operating permit and announced the “5G+” plan. It also Unveiled the first self-branded 5G handset, “Pioneer X1” and officially released 5G commercial packages and launched 5G services in 50 cities in China

In 2020, CM commenced 5G commercial services in Hong Kong, providing quality 5G services. China Mobile built the world’s highest base station, providing 5G coverage in Mount Everest and saw its number of 5G package customers surpass 100 million

China Mobile Limited is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. It is the world's largest mobile network operator by total number of subscribers. As of 31 October 2020, China Mobile Limited's total market value stood at HK$965 billion, which is the largest red chip company.
